Kevin Bacon's No Doofus Dad in Fun Ads for Hyundai EVs

His daughter Sosie co-stars

This dad's no doofus. He's a little nerdy, though.

Rocking striped pants straight out of 1969 and a leather fanny pack, Kevin Bacon headlines spots touting Hyundai's all-electric Ioniq 6. In the work, developed with Innocean, the Golden Globe winner shows off the car to his real-life daughter, actress Sosie Bacon.

"It's electric, don't be shocked!" Kev proclaims. (Oh, Dad!)

Kevin's perfectly cast as a goofier version of himself, and the humor hits without seeming too silly. Plus, he and Sosie share great chemistry (both on screen and in the biological sense).

"Up to 80 percent charge in 18 minutes," Kev tells some random folks as he powers up the vehicle. "Range? Heck, we could go to Mexico!"

Next, Sosie's in for a bumpy ride when Kev turns up the pressure for grandkids:

"If you are someone on the fence of going electric, we hope this campaign will show how early adopters, at any stage in their life, can easily make the switch," says Angela Zepeda, CMO at Hyundai Motor America.

Directed by Will Speck and Josh Gordon, the ads break during Sunday's NFL conference championship games.
