Play it Unsafe, Because Risks Can Yield Major Rewards

Go ahead, pitch your wacky idea at the meeting

There are some things in this world where you wanna play it safe—opting out of street food from a sketchy vendor in a developing country, skipping that ride on the dilapidated rollercoaster, or giving your credit card to a stranger with a nice smile.

But too often we err towards safety and security in our work, creativity and relationships when we'd be much better off taking a risk.

Risks are risky. Duh. But they're the gateways to bigger rewards. go ahead, pitch your wacky idea at the meeting. Sure, it might get shot down, but it also might end up winning a Clio.

You'll never know if you don't take the risk.

So take a breath and evaluate the situation. Be bold! Be courageous! And when you want something more, aspire to something bigger, want changes and different outcomes, go right ahead and play it unsafe.
