MvVO ART/AD ART SHOW 2023 Announces Call for Artists

The winner receives a special Clio Award

Art and advertising collide at the MvVO ART/AD ART SHOW. This year's exhibition will take place at Powerhouse Arts in Brooklyn, N.Y., from Oct. 15-16. Folks who work in advertising and design, for brands, or who started their careers in the industry are encouraged to apply.

The event launched in 2018 at Sotheby's, introducing art lovers, curators and collectors to artists from the marketing and communications field. Each year, the exhibits include paintings, sculptures, drawings and photography.

"By any measure, great art is judged by factors that are hard to describe," says Maria van Vlodrop, founder and CEO of MvVO ART. "I started AD ART SHOW to give artists working in advertising an opportunity to prove themselves outside commercial art. Think of Andy Warhol or Edward Hopper, who got their start doing ads. This is who we're looking for and we feel the next great artist could be working in any ad agency today. Having the Clio Awards as a partner in that pursuit is the highest honor and helps secure our position in both the advertising and fine art world."

The top 10 finishers will have their creations featured on outdoor billboard canvasses in Outfront Media's top 10 media markets. The winning artist, chosen by the MvVO ART jury of collectors, will also receive a special Clio Award.

"I'm so inspired by the work I've been introduced to since we partnered with the MvVO Art/Ad Art Show four years ago," adds Nicole Purcell, CEO at Clio. "Each cycle, the submissions from around the world are a reminder to follow your creative passions wherever they take you. I can't wait to see what the artists in the ad world have been crafting for us this year."
