Once God Created Fire, the Burger King Whopper Came Next

The Almighty likes 'em flame broiled

Buzzman just hatched the first-ever TV ad for Burger King in Belgium, where the chain opened its doors in 2017. Titled "The Four Elements," the work sports a cosmic scope that feels novel for fast-food advertising.

Our mom once told us that parents inevitably always have a favorite child. Turns out that among the four elements, God does too: Fire. The ad implies this is because of the flame-grilled Whopper, but it's probably because she's a Leo. (We don't know that for sure. She just looks like one.)

Of course, some pomp and circumstance is also being made over the fact that God, here, is a woman. But well before the film Dogma did that, humanity for most of time associated the creation principle with a divine feminine power, what with childbirth and the fact that most midwives were women. (Plus, midwifing pretty much equips you for handling nearly all other community medical needs).

The current divine regime—predominantly masculine, then singularly so—is fairly new, driven by conquest, and basically sucks. So this marks a return to basics, and not a moment too soon.

We'll pop some Whoppers on the altar and set the grill to "burn it all down."
