#WFH Diaries: Rob Kottkamp of Partners + Napier

As lockdowns linger in most parts of the world, we're checking in with creative people to see how they're faring. Here, Muse chats with Rob Kottkamp, chief creative officer at Upstate New York agency Partners + Napier.

Give us a one-line bio of yourself.

Husband, father, handyman, gardener, barista, counselor, sneakerhead, book reader, Star Wars fan, and CCO, recently relocated to Rochester, N.Y.

Where are you living right now, and who's with you?

I'm living in a house on a cul-de-sac in a suburb of Rochester. I'm with my wife, Wonder Woman (who goes by Laura), our 10-year-old daughter Riley, our 7-year-old son Brayden, and a 15-pound ragamuffin cat named Willow.

What's your work situation like at the moment?

Remote. Sanitized. Solitary. Functional. Wireless. Surprisingly streamlined.

Describe your socializing strategy.

G-Chats, Gmail, G-Suites, G-Messaging, G-Talk. Basically all the G's.

How are you dealing with childcare, if applicable?

Day shift and night shift. Wonder Woman, aka Laura, handles the day. "Not the CCO of this house" (as Wonder Woman, aka Laura, likes to call me) takes over at night when his work is done.

What are you reading?

World War Z, The Builders, Percy Jackson (a chapter a night with Brayden) and Dune (a chapter a night with Riley).

What are you watching?

Top Chef, season whatever, because we burned through Tiger King (like everyone else).

What are you listening to?

Sirius XM Chill.

How are you staying fit?

Fasting and Peloton.

Have you taken up a hobby?

Having dinner every night with my family. It's amazing.

Any tips for getting necessities?

The Jeff Bezos delivery system.

An awkward moment since all this started.

Remembering what I'm wearing from the waist down before I stand up to go get something in the middle of a G-Chat.

Best work email you got since all this started.

I've yet to get it. The subject line is "The Office is Open!!!!!!!!"

An aha! moment since all this started.

Don't use a folding chair and a card table as a "desk."

What's your theory on how this is going to play out?

I think as we all continue to be good humans, support those helping us, keep our wits about us, and wash our hands, we'll all be fine.
