One Agency's Plea This Mother's Day: 'Leave Mom the Fuck Alone'

YARD NYC designs cheeky merch for charity

Mom needs a break pretty much all the time, but especially when a global pandemic forces her to deal with your bullshit literally 24/7 for months, with no end in sight.

Which is why ad agency YARD NYC is embracing humor—refreshing, in these uncertain times—with a Mother's Day effort titled "Leave Mom the Fuck Alone." Because indeed, that's all she really wants.

The campaign includes a social media campaign, an animated film, and custom merch including tote bags and digital swag such as iPhone and desktop wallpapers and Zoom backgrounds. You can buy everything at leavemomthefuckalone.com, with 100 percent of profits going to charity to help mothers affected by the pandemic.

Here's the amusing video:

"Seeing so many moms leading the charge at work, carrying so much of the weight on the front lines and figuring out how to homeschool on the fly moved us to want to celebrate moms in a big way this year," says Ruth Bernstein, CEO of YARD NYC.

"As a mom myself, I know how difficult it can be to juggle everything, and I applaud how moms are making it work. But we didn't think the world needed another sad and sappy spot talking about 'these unprecedented times,' so we decided to cut through the noise and have a little fun. Leave Mom the Fuck Alone is intended to give moms and their families a moment to laugh, to celebrate and to give back to moms in need through charity donations. We're also hoping our kids will listen and will leave us alone for a little bit."
