Mother Sends Specimen Cups to Ad Schools for Intern Applicants to Fill With Creativity

But no liquids, please

It's summer intern recruitment season, and Mother is curious what its prospective interns are made of. But not really what they're made of.

This past week, the agency sent packages filled specimen cups labeled InternTest™ to advertising schools across the U.S. In addition to their résumés, portfolio sites and work references, the applicants are required to fill the cup with something creative.

Just, no bodily fluids, please.

Applicants must register and complete an online test at interntest.com. Then, they must send the InternTest™ back to Mother New York (even if they are submitting an application for Mother Los Angeles) at 595 11th Ave, New York, NY 10036. The deadline is Friday, April 5.

You can apply at the website even if you don't receive a specimen cup.

The idea came from art director Alex Nassour and copywriter Alex Maleski.

"All we care about is good work and good people, so that's what we decided to test our future interns for," Nassour tells Muse.
