Burger King and TikTok Will Give You a $1 Whopper If You Dance for It

TikTok stars show you how to #WhopperDance

We haven't connected Burger King and dancing since we asked Subservient Chicken to Riverdance circa 2004. But now, the brand is finding its groove again, unveiling a partnership with TikTok that will have you dancing for a $1 Whopper.

TikTok stars Loren Gray, Avani and Nathan Davis Jr. will post tutorial videos on Thursday morning, showing you how to order different kinds of Whopper sandwich combinations via dance moves.

You are then encouraged to post a video of yourself doing those dance moves, adding a special BK soundtrack and the hashtag #WhopperDance. You'll also need to follow the BK brand on TikTok. You'll then get a DM on TikTok from Burger King with a unique code to be used in the BK App for a $1 Whopper.

You have until Sunday to try the #WhopperDance; the resulting coupons will be valid through June 28. BK worked with MullenLowe and influencer agency Blue Hour Studios on the campaign.

"We are investing in our digital channels and are always looking for innovative ways to engage with guests," says Jorge Luiz R. Oliveira, director of media and social channels at Burger King Corporation. "The BK North America team is constantly pushing into new territories and Whopper Dance on TikTok is one of these ideas."

BK has proven adept at finding creative ways to grow its social/digital footprint. In addition to adding TikTok followers through this effort, it will also again prompt more downloads of the BK App—something the brand did most memorably with "Whopper Detour" in December 2018.
