Burger King's latest experiment in putting its products in an unflattering light comes from Italy, where the brand is endorsing social-distancing guidelines with an amusing tweak to its signature burger.
BK on Thursday introduced the Social Distancing Whopper—a Whopper with triple the onions, which will presumably make your breath bad enough that no one will want to come within six feet of you. Which, in a roundabout way, could help prevent the spread of coronavirus.
The idea came from Wunderman Thompson Italia. The Social Distancing Whopper is available in all Italian Burger King restaurants via drive-through King Drives, take-away services and eat-in.
