What I Learned Art Directing Photo Shoots That Didn't Go as Planned

Lessons from some memorable days on set

"Learn from your mistakes," they always say. Yet it's rare to find someone willing to speak candidly about how they've put this clichéd directive into action.

With experience directing over 100 photo shoots with some of the industry's top names, Andrew Irving is here to do precisely that in this new edition of the Creative Mentor Series.

As founding partner and chief creative officer of L.A.-based agency Rhubarb, Andrew has had plenty of success on set. Still, he's also had a couple of memorable screw-ups, including with the likes of Drew Barrymore and Lily Tomlin.

Andrew was willing to share some of those tales with us, and most importantly, the lessons those experiences taught him that can be applied both on set and beyond.
